The first live demonstration of the blueSPACE NFV MANO platform for SDM networks was shown at ECOC 2018 on 25th of September 2018 at demo session TuDS.2 from 12:30 to 17:00. It was very successful and many attendees from the industry and academy came to the booth to know more details. The demonstration was carried out by CTTC and Nextworks.
The 2nd phase 5G-PPP projects 5G-PHOS, blueSPACE, 5G-PICTURE and 5G ESSENCE jointly organized a workshop on 5G Wireless and Optical Technologies for Mobile Communication Systems as a Special Session of the IEEE International Workshop on Computer-Aided Modeling Analysis and Design of Communication Links and Networks (CAMAD) 2018. The workshop aimed to highlight the most recent advances in 5G wireless and optical technologies for mobile communication systems – both within the involved and represented 5G-PPP projects, as well as in the international context.
The 2nd phase 5G PPP projects blueSPACE, 5G PHOS, 5G-PICTURE and Metro-Haul jointly organized a workshop and cross-pollination meeting on Optical Fronthaul and Backhaul Technologies for 5G Networks in connection with the IEEE Conference on Photonics in Switching and Computing 2018. blueSPACE has teamed up with three other 5G PPP 2nd phase projects (Metro-Haul, 5G-PICTURE and 5G PHOS) to organize a cross-pollination meeting focusing on 'Optical Fronthaul and Backhaul Technologies for 5G Networks'. The workshop will be co-located with IEEE PSC 2018 conference in Limassol, Cyprus and will take place on 18th September 2018.
In the framework of IEEE BMSB 2018, eight different workshops were organized by 5G-PPP phase 2 projects. The projects involved in the workshops were: 5G-Xcast, IoRL, 5G-Transformer, 5G-CORAL, 5G-Ex, NGPaas, 5G MEDIA, 5GCAR and blueSPACE. The blueSPACE workshop was co-organized by UPV and chaired by Simon Rommel and Diego Perez Galacho. Four different works were presented within the workshop, three of them based on blueSPACE concepts and results and one based on results of 5G PPP second phase project 5G PHOS.
